Ducati 100 – A century on display in Bologna

At Palazzo Pepoli, a hundred years of Ducati’s history told through its relationship with the city where it was founded.

To mark the Ducati Centenary, Palazzo Pepoli – Museum of the History of Bologna is hosting Ducati and Bologna from 9 September to 5 October 2026. A century of transformations, an exhibition dedicated to the bond that has united the Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer with the city for a century.

Documents, images, artefacts and testimonies portray Ducati not only as a key player in Italian motorcycling history, but as an entity deeply intertwined with the industrial, social and cultural transformations of Bologna.

From its origins in the radio communications sector to the start of motorcycle production, from the Borgo Panigale factory to the city’s public life, the exhibition traces a hundred years of history, following the people, places, enterprises and relationships that have helped to forge a shared identity.

The exhibition is spread across three floors of Palazzo Pepoli, each dedicated to a different aspect of the relationship between Ducati and Bologna. The exhibition begins with the construction of Ducati’s identity through communication, travel and the local area.

DUCATI 100: A CENTURY ON DISPLAY FOR BOLOGNA

From 4 September to 5 October, to mark its centenary, Ducati is creating an urban trail that transforms Bologna into a vast exhibition space, with a cultural and narrative project that combines industrial excellence and innovation, art and sport, history and design.

The trail passes through some of Bologna’s most iconic locations, with each one representing a different chapter in the Ducati universe: from the factory and craftsmanship to design, from identity to history and a passion for sport. Alongside Palazzo Pepoli, the project involves the Salaborsa Library, the Cavour 1959 Gallery, Palazzo Boncompagni and the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium, weaving together a narrative that intertwines a hundred years of enterprise, innovation, culture and the local area.
